Calamine+zinc Oxide is also indicated for the asymptomatic relief of itchiness in chickenpox viral infection.
Calamine+zinc Oxide is a combination of two drugs, namely: Calamine and Zinc oxide. Calamine has astringent and anti-pruritic properties. It provides a cooling effect, thereby helps in diverting attention from itching sensation. Zinc oxide has astringent properties. It provides a soothing effect and also reflects ultraviolet radiation. Together, they help in providing relief from skin irritations.
In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as irritation, itching, redness, and rash. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Skin irritation: Skin irritation is the temporary outbreak of the skin, which appear as red, bumpy, itchy, scaly patches on the skin, possibly with welts or blisters. The irritation could occur when the skin comes in contact with any foreign substance such as allergens or insect bites/stings. Symptoms include redness, itching, irritation, blisters, bumps, dry and scaly skin.
Sunburn: Sunburn occurs due to too much exposure of the skin to sunlight or sunlamps. Symptoms include red, itchy skin, pain, and blisters.
